Today’s MSMOTD is something really special.  Futuristic-retro C64-inspired Swedish electro!  A fancy name for something that’s ultimately just pure, unadulterated musical pleasure.  I’ve been rocking this song constantly for several weeks now, and I’m still not sick of it.  Beautiful melodies, a nostalgic sound, swirling synth solos, dancy basslines.  This is the perfect driving music, and it instantly makes my day better whenever I listen to it.  I hope you like it as much as I do!

The one and only Mille - Swedish Electro Producer Extraordinaire!

I discovered Mille via the very excellent Electro blog over at Dödselectro.  He routinely posts about new, often obscure, but always excellent electro that he’s discovered around the net.  Mille was one of his better discoveries, and I’m pretty sure Mille has gotten a ton of exposure because of it!  I’ve exchanged a few emails with Mille, and he’s a really nice guy, and a kickass producer.

Mille just recently released a wonderful remix of We Got Company’s “Give Me Some More”, which you should definitely check out below.  You can also download these mp3s over at Dödselectro (I didn’t want to post them, as I’m not sure how Mille wants his stuff distributed).  Anyways, I encourage you to visit his Myspace page and listen to the rest of his music!

ps. If anyone has any idea how to pronounce “Mille”, please leave a comment and let me know!  Is it like “Mill”?  “Me-yeh”?  “Mill-eh”?  “Mill-ee”?  “Awesome-O”?

Hopefully Mille releases an album, or starts putting his stuff up on Amazon MP3 so that I can post links to buy his stuff.  It’s definitely worth supporting.

  5. I love to listen to your music while i am studying

  6. So here is as requested the poem that Give Me Some More inspired. it’s totally superficial and strictly a dance song but i would just LOVE to have this poem put to this music.
    enriched in all your twilight
    drowned in fantasy
    suspended underwater
    open eyes and breathe

my hair streams black around me
    i’m dancing in this light
    it ripples far above me
    now growing dim, now bright

    suddenly you’re with me
i find your hand in mine
break free out of the liquid
    escape all weight and time

    twisting to the beat of
the drums and sounds and stars
we dance at noon along the
    sleeping startled boulevard

the planes of your archangel face
    outshine the blazing sun
    red ribbons fall like roses
you and i, we have begun

  7. Haha, but that song already has lyrics! I love the poem btw. Lovely imagery and wordplay. It really captures the feel of the music. :) Hopefully when you’re a famous poet and this is published in some award-winning compilation, the tag beneath this one will read “as first published on http://www.monstunes.com:P

  8. thank you! i’m glad you like it!

and as for shameless product placement, i was already thinking of including a section of “works inspired by the music of Mons Chan”, so no worries there ;)
